David Kožuh

The collaboration between the Museo Tattile Statale Omero and the Museo del Goriziano (Goriški muzej) is taking shape, following its initiation over a year ago, when 12 professionals, including conservators, tiflologists, and representatives from the Slovenian city of Nova Gorica, visited the Museo Omero.

The goal of this training visit was also linked to the creation of a Tactile Gallery for 2025, the year in which Nova Gorica - Gorizia will be the European Capital of Culture.

Last Saturday, November 16, David Kožuh, director of the Museo del Goriziano, traveled to Ancona to collect 8 works from the Museo Omero. These works, along with others, will be part of the tactile gallery "L'Arte oltre il visibile" ("Art Beyond the Visible").

The works loaned by the Museo Omero include the volumetric model of the Parthenon and seven plaster casts: Head of Pseudo-Seneca, Head of Damoxenos, Head of a Cherub, Portrait of Michelangelo, Lady with a Bouquet (Dama del Mazzolino), Virgin of Bruges, Bas-relief of the Abbey of Nonantola featuring the panel dedicated to the Nativity scene.

The "L'Arte oltre il visibile" gallery will open in March 2025 and will remain on display until December 2025 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
