Biennale “ArteInsieme – culture and cultures without barriers”<\/a>, which is sponsored by Museo Tattile Statale Omero, the “Edgardo Mannucci” Art School, Ancona and the Association of Specialist Teachers of the Marches Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\nOn show is the major work “Italy recycled” by Michelangelo Pistoletto, our special guest at ArteInsieme, 2013, and a selection of works inspired by The Third Paradise made by students from local Licei Artistici and Fine Art Academies. The artist’s exploration of this theme illustrates the “transition to a new level of planetary civilisation which is indispensable to ensure the survival of the human race. “<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Italy recycled” was created for the 2012 International Architecture Biennale in Venice. It has been recreated at the Mole Vanvitelliana with new additions to encourage tactile enjoyment by visually-handicapped people, but also the general public. In Venice, the large wooden template of Italy (793 x 812 cm) was erected 20 cm above the green grass of the Giardino delle Vergini. Now, at the Mole, it has been raised to 70 cm, so it can be touched and perceived by everyone and using all the senses. As he did at the Biennale, Pistoletto intervened directly at the Mole, (he was in Ancona on 7 and 8 June). The work, which alludes to a new Renaissance through the recycling and recovery of materials, will remain permanently at the Museo Omero, thanks to the interest of the Directorate General for Landscape, Fine Arts, Architecture and Contemporary Art – Service 5 of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And finally, the “Mediterranea 16: Errors Allowed | Mistakes are allowed” exhibition opened on June 6. For the entire weekend, The Mole Vanvitelliana and the city of Ancona were the setting for a rich programme of performances, concerts, meetings and conferences featuring young artists from the Mediterranean area.
