The presentation ceremony of the Heritage International Institute<\/strong> was held at the Bertinoro Castle<\/strong> in Forl\u00ec on Friday 19 January during the International Symposium on Cultural Heritage, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HII (Heritage International Institute)<\/strong> is a new academic, cultural and artistic centre of international excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the words of Gianluigi Mastandrea Bonaviri, the HII’s academic director who is currently serving at the Italian embassy in Cairo and is professor of diplomatic and consular law at the Alma Mater University of Bologna: “On the one hand, the Heritage International Institute intends to make our art and history better known outside Italy and, on the other, aims to build bridges between the various countries through culture”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HII has twelve departments dedicated to the protection and promotion of every form of cultural heritage, both material and immaterial: archaeological sites, architectural heritage, landscape, music, dance, cinema, cuisine, design and fashion, with a special focus on human rights and the protection of culture in war zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 200 delegates<\/strong> from all over the world gathered in the Bertinoro Castle for the official launch of the Heritage International Institute.
The Institute signed a record number of agreements with centres of excellence, universities, associations and museums from all over the world, including the Museo Omero, thus creating the largest international network in favour of cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this network, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Heritage International Institute will activate schools of higher education on cultural heritage and carry out international awareness campaigns in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first step will be to involve a series of Italian artistic high schools and hospitals<\/strong> in order to create the first “heritage community” <\/strong>of the Council of Europe<\/strong> in favour of disabled people.
There will be concerts at UNESCO sites, itineraries for people with disabilities in Italian and foreign museums, international Michelin dinners based on food as cultural heritage, and special cultural tourism trips all over the world.
It will also promote the first international hub of heritage designers, as well as the creation of the first International Heritage Fashion Week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
