Sciola, the stone, the sound
Saturday, October 26, 2024, 5pm – 7pm

We will get to know Pinuccio Sciola, as both father and artist, through the words of his three children and enjoy a unique experience: hearing the voice of his "Sonorous Stone", an artwork which became part of the Museo Omero collection earlier this year.

The Sardinian sculptor Giuseppe Sciola, known as Pinuccio (1942-2016), focused his artistic research on revealing the sound of stone: cuts and grooves ino blocks of limestone and basalt release the magic of ancestral sounds.
We will have the pleasure of listening to the biographical and artistic account by his children, Tomaso, Maria, and Chiara, who manage the Fondazione Pinuccio Sciola and his magnificent Sonorous Garden. We will then accompany them upstairs to hear the voice of the "Sonorous Stone" and discover the multisensory installation dedicated to it.

The acquisition of the artwork and the installation are part of the "The Senses of Art between Aesthetics and Inclusion" project, supported by the Contemporary Art Plan - public notice  PAC2022-2023 - promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
