The closing ceremony of the "Tocco quindi vedo" (I touch therefore I see) exhibition is held on St Lucy’s day. This project was devised and created by the Centro Internazionale del Libro Parlato Onlus "Adriano Sernagiotto" in collaboration with the Museo Tattile Statale Omero and the Comune di Ancona.
The project, which operates at national level and was made possible thanks to a contribution from the Fondazione, was developed in each of the cities where the Bank has its main offices. "Tocco quindi vedo" commissioned the production of 23 bas reliefs, copies of paintings from the Pinacoteca Civica "Francesco Podesti", Ancona, the Pinacoteca Civica, Vicenza, the Museo Diocesano, Mantua, the Museo Civico, Feltre (Belluno) and the Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Verona.
On Sunday 13 December, at 11 am, the Pinacoteca, Ancona (Palazzo Bosdari, 17 Via Pizzeccolli) presented its new exhibits to the public - bas reliefs of four paintings from the civic collection: the portraits of "Cardinal Antonio Maria Cadolini" and of "Pope Gregory XVI" by Francesco Podesti, "The Immaculate Conception" by Guercino and "The Crucifiction" by Titian.
The paintings were translated into bas relief by means of a special computerized graphic technology that builds up the third dimension of the picture. Accompanying each relief is a framed colour photo of the original work and also a guide in big print and Braille, making them completely accessible to the visually handicapped.
The Museo Tattile Statale Omero will be custodian of all 23 bas reliefs which will form a collection that can be enjoyed by everyone.
Present at the ceremony were: Andrea Nobili, Assessore alla cultura, Comune di Ancona, Maestro Gualtiero Munerol, Director of the Centro Internazionale del Libro Parlato, Roberto Farroni, Director of the Museo Tattile Statale Omero, Massimo Di Matteo, architect and Aldo Grassini, President of the Unione Italiana Ciechi e Ipovedenti della Regione Marche.
