The Museo Omero continues its international activity with the launch of the second phase of the “Doors. Please Touch" project which is aimed at improving accessibility in Lebanon’s principal museums.
The project is promoted by the Beirut-based "Red Oak" Association in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, the Italian Cultural Institute of Beirut, the National Museum of Beirut and the MACAM Modern and Contemporary Art Museum in Aalita, Lebanon.
On October 31 and November 1 and 2, Andrea Sòcrati held a training course for teachers and museum and cultural operators at the National Library of Beirut. The topic was improving accessibility to cultural heritage for disabled people, particularly those with visual impairments.
The course also included guided tours and workshops for students, with and without disabilities, at the prestigious National Archaeological Museum of Beirut as well as at the MACAM Museum.
Finally, cultural exchanges and cooperative projects on inclusion issues were arranged with teachers from Lebanese schools with the involvement of the Liceo Artistico "Edgardo Mannucci” in Ancona.
